Four dried citrus slices, sugared with fine glitter so the segments catch the light, tied together with a length of soft apricot velvet ribbon and finished with a bow. The colours run from amber to burnt orange — warm, natural and quietly nostalgic. Light enough to hang from the thinnest branch.
The oldest Christmas decoration there is, and still the loveliest.
Style note — the tree: Hang two or three at different depths so the slices turn and catch the lights.
Style note — gifting: Tie one to a parcel with a cinnamon stick tucked into the bow.
On a natural, foraged-looking tree. Cluster with pine cones, cinnamon bundles and dried eucalyptus for a scheme built entirely from warm neutrals.
Hung along a kitchen shelf or window. Suspend a row at staggered heights where daylight passes through the slices — soft amber, all season long.
