Charmed House Interiors · Ribbons
Narrow velvet ribbon in a deep, saturated crimson, with a soft pile that shifts from wine to bright red as the light moves across it. Slim enough for delicate work — hanging ornaments, tying napkins, finishing a small parcel — and supple enough to knot flat without bulk. The colour is properly rich rather than orange-toned.
Nothing looks more expensive than red velvet used sparingly.
Style note — ornaments: Swap out hanging threads for short lengths so the ribbon becomes part of the display.
Style note — gifting: Wrap twice around brown paper and knot rather than bow. Restrained, and all the better for it.
On a green tree with brass and glass. Hang baubles from it at varied lengths so the velvet reads as intentional detail rather than hidden fixing.
Around cream linen napkins. Knot a short length at each place with a sprig of rosemary tucked beneath — one small deliberate thing per setting.
